Introduction: Rhonda Trammell was introduced to
racing through go-karts. She was given the chance to take
a kart out for a drive one day back in 1983. The scenario
went like this: Rain, Slicks, Road Course, Spin, Pout, and
then once she decided to give it another try...the rest
is history. She has been in pursuit of her dream to race
ChampCars ever since.
Rhonda's accomplishments include: 250cc Super Kart Champion,
WKA/SCK Western Points Region Points Champion, 1989/90 WKA
World Enduro Champion. Wins in the following: IKF, WKA,
Karting, Skip Barber Formula Fords and Formula Dodge in
2002, Formula Russell Series, PPG Dodge Celebrity Race at
Minneapolis Grand Prix in 1998, and Spec Racer Fords 2000.
1992 Successfully passed Indy Lights Rookie Test.
Current Season: Rhonda's 2002 racing season is one
that is currently being pieced together. She is working
on sponsorship to race at Laguna Seca, Portland, Toronto,
Road America, and Mid-Ohio, all in the Barber Dodge Pro
Series w/CART. "The Barber Dodge Pro Series is a good
series and I'm fortunate to be able to utilize a series
that is recognized as the Official Professional Entry Level
Series to CART.
Racing Goals: To secure sponsorship for the CART/Toyota
Atlantic Championship for 2003 and beyond, while currently
utilizing the CART ladder system in the Barber Dodge Pro
Series. Most importantly, Win!
Personal: Rhonda was born in Green Bay, WI, and is
a Packer Fan. She grew up in Los Angeles, CA, and now resides
in Pittsboro, IN. Her favorite driver is:Mario Andretti.
her favorite food is Mexican and Italian. Her most memorable
moment was racing with Juan Montoya at Mid-Ohio in the 1993/Barber
Saab Pro Race. While not racing, Rhonda is a member of the
CART Pace Car Team. She is married to Dr. Terry Trammell,
Simple Green Safety Team, Chief Orthopaedic Consultant to
CART. She has two children, Rex 15 and Rachel 13. Her hobbies
include anything you can race, all outdoor activities, playing
guitar, writing songs and poetry.
