Jean Kinser Dana
SCCA Club Racing, Solo II, and Pro Solo Driver
Jean campaigns an Audi A3 on the
American Racing League road course circuit. She was part of the
winning ITC team for the 24 Hours of Moroso and the 12
Hours of Summit Point. Next year, she will be driving a Neon
in SCCA competition.
In addition to her own racing, Jean has dedicated herself to helping others learn
the art of car control. She is licensed by the National Safety Council
for Defensive Driving and the State of Georgia for Driver's Education. She
currently tours the United States training autocross drivers in
the skills of that unique motorsport as the sole owner of the Evolution
Performance Driving School - McKamey Autocross Division.
In 1998, Jean's students took
nearly half the national autocross championships and 103 individual trophies in autocross competition. Her success was highlighted in a recent issue of Car and Driver magazine.
In 1999, her student's took 120 trophies, 20 National Championships. She had
five new winners.
Jean is also working on a unique program to involve pre-teens and
teenagers in racing, beginning in karts. Also in the works is an Advanced
Driving Development course, a hands-on program in which teenage drivers
will learn real-world car control situations to improve their driving
skills.
This five time SCCA Solo II National Champion began racing in 1987 and hopes to possibly run
in Winston Cup one day. Jean loves anything competitive and physical. She says she 'will
continue in the motorsports industry in some way until I
am in my wheelchair, and then some.'
Jean is a single mother of two, Tyler (7) and Austin (5), a licensed
dental assistant, radiologist and nail technician as well as a certified
gymnastic specialist having coached for three years.
